Challenge
Creating a calmer transition to bedtime.
I wanted to explore a simple way to help people wind down at night without overwhelming them with features. Working with an iOS developer, I focused on a clear, restrained experience built around light, gradual change and ease of use.
Solution
A light that fades with the timer.
The MVP focused on a small set of essential features for iOS and iPadOS. Inspired by moonlight, Moonset lets users choose how long the screen takes to dim, from 0 to 60 minutes, and adjust its initial brightness. The gradual fade is the central interaction: a simple visual cue designed to make winding down feel more natural, without adding unnecessary complexity.
Outcome
A focused MVP, ready for further validation.
Moonset explores how one carefully designed interaction — a gradually fading screen — can form the basis of a simple bedtime experience. The MVP establishes the core concept and its controls. Whether it helps users wind down or fall asleep more easily remains to be validated through real-world use.
